Upcoming Meeting (2/23/2010)

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2pm at Victor's Coffee. Using the list of simple scenarios we came up with at the last meeting, pick your favorite and find three different ways of expressing or defining it.

For example, let's say the scenario is "buying a cup of coffee." Think of what settings to put the scenario in, what type of characters would be involved, and what kind of conflicts the characters would run into. Maybe it's a coffee shop on a space station with zero gravity and the coffee won't stay in the cup. What if the person buying the cup of coffee is a guy trying to hit on the girl working at the cafe. Try and play around with as many character pairings, settings, and conflicts as you can to come up with some interesting interpretations. Remember, those simple scenarios are just a jumping off point. Our story should be something simple at its heart, but extravagant and fantastical in its execution.

Also, if you think of another good simple scenario that's not on the list, feel free to use that one instead. However, I'd like to hear what the scenario is first before you do too much work, so e-mail me if you want to do something not on the list.
