Beat Boards
Here's the second iteration on the beat boards. More changes in the works (mostly to the ending).
In addition, here's a brief synopsis of the actions taking place in each beat:
1) Exposition - Establishing shot. The day is starting in the village.
2) Initial Problem/Dilemma - We see various houses in the village. They seem to be doing alright and have fish drying on racks outside. We get to our hero's house. It is sparse and lacking fish.
3) Meet the Hero - Mahaka is sent out to catch fish by his father, who is obviously injured and therefore cannot catch fish himself.
4) The Adventure Begins - Mahaka heads out of the village and is on his way to the fishing hole.
5) Sidetracked - Mahaka is distracted by his friends and coerced into playing with them.
6) Strike 1 - After losing track of time and playing with his friends for most of the day, Mahaka returns to work, frustrated.
7) Back to Work - Mahaka returns to his original task and begins acquiring fish.
8) Strike 2 - Mahaka's friends come to help him, but end up startling him and losing the fish he caught.
9) An Obstacle Arises - Mahaka finally catches another fish, but then penguins show up to try and take it.
10) The Chase - The penguins chase after Mahaka who flees with the fish.
11) Friends Lend a Hand - Mahaka's friends help ward off the penguins with snowball covering fire.
12) Strike 3 - Friends distract Mahaka again by celebrating boisterously. While he is distracted, the lead penguin snatches the fish out of Mahaka's hand.
13) All Is Lost - Mahaka returns home, empty handed and defeated.
14) Redemption - Friends present Mahaka with fish that they caught.
15) All Is Well - Mahaka forgives his friends and accepts the fish.
